Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined the priorities and directions of the work of the Eurasian Union during the meeting of the leaders of the Union, which includes Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, today, Thursday, in Moscow.

During the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the President of Russia presented a set of proposals for the development of the work of the Eurasian Union, the most striking of which are the following:

Putin: The Eurasian Union needs to create technological alliances with third countries

– Putin makes a proposal to create a Eurasian rating agency.

– Putin proposes to create a climate and environmental club in the Economic and Social Union.

– Putin calls for ensuring freedom of movement in the space of the Eurasian Union.

– Putin calls for action to increase the number of products under the brand “Made in the Eurasian Union.”

– Putin calls for intensifying work within the union in order to achieve tangible results by the end of the year.

Today, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held in the Russian capital with the participation of the leaders of the Union, which discussed cooperation between the Union countries in the fields of energy, food security, technological independence, accelerating digital transformation, removing regulatory and trade barriers, and developing infrastructure.

The Eurasian Economic Union was created in early 2015 on the basis of the then-existing Customs Union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, and Armenia and Kyrgyzstan joined later that year.

Union agreements guarantee to all its members the freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and labor, as well as the implementation of a coordinated policy in the areas of trade, energy, industry, agriculture and transport.
