A Chinese electric vehicle company (Xpeng), considered a Chinese competitor to US giant Tesla, has launched two of its electric vehicles in a number of European countries, marking a major step in the fierce competition between Chinese and US companies in the vibrant European market.
The company said a modified version of its sedan (P7) and its SUV (G9) have become available for order in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden, according to a report published by US network ‘CNBC’, which was seen by Al Arabiya.net.

Brian Guo, president of Xpeng, said the launch will boost the company’s European footprint.
This race between the two companies in the European market comes after a difficult year for the American company Tesla, which is now looking to expand in international markets as demand for its cars in China declined last year.
The report says that Expeng’s launch of two new vehicles in Europe could lead to a clash between Chinese and US companies in these new markets.
Exping has priced its P7 sedan at a lower price than rival Tesla vehicles in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden, though the American electric car maker is cutting prices globally to boost sales.
The Chinese company says its P7 sedan can travel 576 kilometers on a single charge and starts at €49,990 (roughly $55,000) in the Netherlands, while the Tesla Model 3 the company claims -manufacturer, travels 602 kilometers on a single charge, one costs 52,990 euros in the Netherlands.
The Chinese company will face stiff competition in Europe not only from Tesla, but also from other Chinese automakers and European auto giants such as Volkswagen, which is betting on electric vehicles.
China’s Xpeng accelerated its international advance last year after opening physical stores in Europe last year and launching the relatively large P5 sedan.
