Early on Tuesday, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that Russia had carried out nighttime airstrikes in southern and eastern Ukraine, using drones and possibly ballistic missiles.
The Air Force said on messaging app Telegram that the southern port of Odessa and areas of Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Dnipropetrovsk regions are under threat of Russian drone attacks.
She added that Russia could use ballistic weapons to strike at the Poltava, Cherkassy, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Kirovograd regions.
For his part, the head of the military administration of the Odessa region, Ole Kipper, said that the local air defense systems participated in repelling attacks by a Russian drone.

Last month, Kyiv launched a counter-offensive to recapture Russian-occupied territories and took the lead in an all-out Russian invasion that has been going on for 17 months.
Kyiv made great strides in the east and south after launching a long-awaited counter-offensive.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview on state television that the operation was “unsuccessful” and that attempts to break through Russian defenses had failed.
