Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khatib confirmed that the tourism sector in the Kingdom has recorded historical numbers in terms of occupancy and the number of visitors from abroad, as the number of visitors reached 2.4 million visitors in the month of January. while their number increased in February last year, when the number of visitors reached 2.5 million, i.е. about 83 thousand visitors a day.
Al-Khatib stressed the importance of localizing the sector and that the issue will not be taken up for discussion or postponement, especially since the ministry has trained more than 100,000 young men and women and spent 400 million rials on them, according to local media.
Tourism to exhibitions and conferences in Saudi Arabia is expected to grow by 11% over the next 10 years.
This happened during a virtual monthly meeting with investors and citizens in the tourism industry.
Al-Khatib explained that the importance of complying with the new rules approved by the ministry is a tool for modernizing the sector under the new tourism system, noting that the deadline set by the ministry for approval is March 25, and everyone must quickly rectify their situation.
He added that the rules issued by the ministry are clear and must be followed by all industry workers without exception, stressing that the ministry will play its role in terms of monitoring and imposing fines on violators, in addition to tightening market controls, especially regarding tourism management violations.
