Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited the headquarters of Riyadh, which announced the holding of Expo 2030 in Paris, where he is visiting France.
Riyadh competes with Busan, Korea and Rome, Italy to host Expo 2030. This year will coincide with the culmination of the Kingdom of Vision 2030 efforts.
The proposed date for the exhibition in Riyadh is from October 1, 2030 to the end of March 2031, which coincides with the period of Christmas, Chinese New Year and the blessed month of Ramadan. In addition to the centenary of the founding of the International Exhibition Bureau, which oversees EXPO exhibitions.
The Riyadh Expo will be held on an area of 6 million square meters and five minutes from the King Khalid International Airport.
The design will serve as a city of the future around the ancient valley, reflecting the Kingdom’s vision of creating a sustainable future for cities.
Riyadh’s launch of the Expo 2030 file comes amid a real desire to invite the world to take part in creating the future through 41 million actual targeted site visits and over a billion visits through the unique Metaverse platform.
Notably, EXPO 2030 will coincide with the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. This will give Riyadh the opportunity to study the impact of the results of this plan on the achievement of the global goals over the next twenty years.
The city of Riyadh is offering to host Expo 2030, its ability to deliver a quality event, especially in light of the focus on increasing its ranking among the world’s most livable cities.
It is working on the development of 6 metro lines spanning the city and connected to the exhibition site and airport, in addition to working to increase the capacity of King Salman International Airport to 150 million passengers by 2030.
Also among the factors supporting the city are the creation of Riyadh Airlines, which will connect 100 destinations worldwide by 2030, and the launch of 68 initiatives with a $92 billion investment to make Riyadh one of the most sustainable cities in the world.
Riyadh Green was launched to develop city-level green spaces, improve quality of life and promote sustainable development goals, in addition to high security, very low crime rates and great experience in hosting major events.
