The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, Bandar Al-Khoraef, said that the number of registered pharmaceutical plants in the Kingdom has reached 50, which covers the needs of the Kingdom in value terms by 28%.

Al-Khoraef added during his participation in the Riyadh summit that the chemical-pharmaceutical sector in the Kingdom is one of the strong sectors that has proven its ability to cope with challenges during a pandemic.

He noted that the Vaccine and Biomedical Industry Committee is working for the first time with 13 government agencies to promote the concept of one-stop service.

He stated that the Kingdom is taking a strategic and integrated approach to building the right infrastructure for biotechnology at the global level, which will attract the best talent, foster innovation and lead the Kingdom globally in health and life sciences.
