Spain secured their spot in the quarter-finals of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with a dominant 5-1 victory over Switzerland today.

Goals Galore for Spain

Aitana Bonmati, the Spanish star, played a key role in the victory, scoring two goals in the 5th and 36th minutes. Her teammates Alba Redondo, Laia Codina, and Jennifer Hermoso also contributed to the win with goals in the 17th, 45th, and 70th minutes, respectively.

An Unfortunate Error

Switzerland’s only goal of the match came from an own goal by Laia Codina in the 11th minute. It was an unfortunate mistake that gave Spain an advantage early on.
