Today, Monday, the press reported that Liverpool are considering selling their Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, just months after signing him on a lucrative contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2025.
Salah, 30, became the highest-paid player in Liverpool history last summer, but his level has declined along with the rest of the squad due to his refraining from signing up.
Liverpool manager German Jurgen Klopp may face the task of rebuilding the team in the coming period and may need a big cash injection if he loses hope of qualifying for the Champions League this season.
And Calciomercato has said Klopp is not entirely confident in Salah’s performance this season and that the club would consider selling the three-time Premier League top scorer for at least £70m.
PSG are likely to be interested in the Egyptian, who has already scored seven league goals this season.
Calciomercato explained in the report: “If Salah is sold before next season, Klopp will look to sign Italian player Federico Chiesa from Juventus as a replacement, a player valued at £53m.”
