Syrian citizens asked if the government’s recent decision to increase the price of industrial diesel fuel includes a direct allocation of diesel fuel to citizens, noting that stations charge 5,400 SYP per litre.
Thus, the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan passed these requests to officials to the government’s “fuel” company. Fuel explained to Al-Watan Online that the decision to cancel includes unsubsidized fuel oil distributed at cost by the State Fuel Distribution Corporation SADCOP, including fuel oil distributed to industrialists, and direct fuel oil to citizens.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection issued a decision according to which it set the price of a liter of diesel fuel distributed for economic activities by the “fuel” company and other supply companies throughout the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic in the amount of 5400. Syrian pounds per liter .
A source at the Ministry of Internal Trade said the decision was made on the basis of the recommendation of the Economic Committee to unify the pricing of the substance between the “fuel” company and private companies in such a way as to guarantee the reduction of corruption and promote the standardization of production costs.
It is worth noting that the price of a liter of subsidized diesel fuel for citizens at the level of 700 pounds has not changed.
