Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said the coming days will be “tough” in terms of energy after a massive Russian missile attack on vital infrastructure in several regions.

The Minister wrote on Facebook yesterday, Saturday: “Due to the bombing, the power supply was cut off in most areas in an emergency. The coming days will be difficult.”

According to Galushchenko, the energy infrastructure in six regions of Ukraine was damaged as a result of the attacks.

DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy company, said two of its thermal power plants were damaged in Saturday’s strikes, and one of them stopped producing electricity.

Earlier, government officials said that about 40% of Ukraine’s energy system was damaged as a result of rocket and drone attacks for three months on the country’s energy infrastructure.

More than 300,000 generators were delivered to his country in December, said Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy director of the Office of the President of Ukraine, as people struggle to survive during the cold winter months.
