The British police announced that a British soldier was charged with planning a terrorist operation.

And British police said in a statement on Friday that the defendant is 21-year-old Daniel Obaid Khalifa from the Beaconside area in the British city of Stafford, and he is a member of the British army.

According to the statement, Al-Askari is accused of trying to “obtain information that could be useful in carrying out and planning a terrorist operation.”

Later, the defendant left the suspicious object in a public place “in order to arouse suspicion that it may explode or catch fire, and as a result may cause property damage or cause bodily injury.”

Police said Khalifa is currently under arrest and is expected to appear in court on Saturday, January 28.
