According to the Customs Service of Ukraine, in 2022 more than 350 thousand generators were delivered to Ukraine, the total capacity of which is equal to one power unit of a nuclear power plant.
The Ukrainian news agency quoted the customs today that “in 11 months of 2022, 354,000 generators worth $355 million were imported into Ukraine. If you double the number of generators in the minimum capacity of the industry and add it up, you get a figure of more than 1 gigawatt, which is equivalent to one power unit at the Khmelnytsky NPP.
And Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said 12 countries would provide Ukraine with energy equipment to repair infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes. According to Kuliba, among the equipment that Kyiv receives, there are various types of generators and fan heaters.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bioenergy Society of Ukraine, Georgiy Gelitukha, warned that gasoline and diesel generators, which are donated by Kyiv partners as technical assistance and which the authorities buy in bulk for companies, will not solve the problem of Ukraine’s energy security in the future.
On October 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, Russian troops began bombing Ukrainian infrastructure.
