Ukrainian Drones Attack Moscow, Causing Damage and Suspension of Flights
According to officials, Ukrainian drones launched an attack on Moscow early Sunday, resulting in one injury, damage to buildings, and the suspension of flights at Vnukovo airport, as reported by TASS news agency.
TASS also mentioned that Russia’s Defence Ministry confirmed the destruction of a Ukrainian drone over the Odintsovo district and the crash of two others in Moscow.
Emergency services reported that one person was injured due to a blast in a building, while the airport had to cease all arrivals and departures.
Although two office buildings suffered minor damage to their facades, no casualties were reported, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
The Ukraine government has yet to respond to the incident.
In response to the attack, Russia vowed to retaliate strongly against Ukraine, particularly due to one strike occurring near the location where military briefings on Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine take place.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov previously hinted at the possibility of more drone strikes.
