The head of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Anastasia Radina, said that the head of the public procurement department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Bohdan Khmelnitsky, was dismissed from his post.
Radina said on Facebook that the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Committee listened to the Ukrainian Defense Minister’s rationale regarding the purchase of food for soldiers, and indicated that the minister did not object to the accusations against Khmelnytsky and Deputy Minister Vyacheslav Shapovalov. and they were fired.
Radina added, citing Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, that at the moment Ukrainian soldiers are being fed according to last year’s contracts.
And the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed that the appendix, which refers to new contracts of the Ministry of Defense that have not yet entered into force, has been checked, and work is underway to audit it to correct the mistake.
It is noteworthy that the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine in charge of logistics, Vyacheslav Shapovalov, was dismissed from his post yesterday, Tuesday, after his involvement in corruption cases related to food supplies for the Ukrainian army.
And the Ukrainian media previously reported that the products that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense buys for its troops are two to three times the cost of purchasing them in retail stores in Kyiv.
