The latest developments in the situation with the player from Ghana, Christian Atsu, who went missing as a result of the devastating earthquake that occurred in Turkey on Monday, became known.

Hatayspor spokesman Mustafa Ozat said injured Ghanaian Christian Atsu has been recovered from the rubble while the search for team sports director Tanar Savut continues.

The Portuguese newspaper Apolla reported that the player was found to have a right leg injury and breathing problems and was taken directly to the hospital for treatment.

The newspaper added that the rescuers managed to find his teammates Onur Ergun and Burak Oksuz, while their colleague Karim Alishi managed to get out alone and escape without the help of rescuers.

According to media reports, Atsu was stuck under the rubble of a building, still unaware of his fate.

Atsu, 31, played for Porto, Chelsea, Everton, Bournemouth and Newcastle United in England and was a Saudi Arabian pioneer before moving to Hatayspor at the start of the current season.
