A Congressional delegation from the Democratic and Republican parties visited Israel, where they discussed judicial reform plans, the Iranian case, and Israel-US relations.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Thursday in his office in Jerusalem with a group of Republican senators led by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, joined by US Ambassador to Israel Tom Nedis and Secretary of State for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer.
Later Thursday, Israeli President Isaac Herzog met with a group of Democratic senators led by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
“You will see internal and external issues on our agenda. Iran comes first. Unfortunately, this is a serious threat to the region,” Herzog said.
Schumer, in turn, praised Duke’s efforts to bring supporters and opponents of ongoing judicial reform to the negotiating table.
