A senior US official said that Moscow used Chinese drones in the war in Ukraine.

He said Chinese drones are collecting intelligence from Kiev, adding: “They can see tactics, technologies and procedures, including how drones are responding to cyberattacks,” according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Despite a massive Western pressure campaign aimed at limiting Moscow’s ability to continue the war. The Pentagon fears that these drones are not only fueling Russia’s military effort, but also allowing China to gather vital intelligence on the battlefield.

Drones, which are used for both civilian and military purposes, are often purchased by third parties and then shipped from China.

On the other hand, a Chinese drone company (DJI Technology) has made it clear that it opposes the use of civilian drones on the battlefield, noting that it suspended operations in Russia and Ukraine last April.

As the company specializing in the (drone industry) explained, “Like consumer electronics, DJI products can be purchased from online retailers in many countries.”

“We cannot prevent users or institutions from making purchases in countries or regions other than Russia and Ukraine, and then transferring or gifting them to Moscow and Kyiv,” she added.

Kyiv turned to a Chinese company

Earlier, Ukraine turned to the Chinese company (DJI Technology) for the production of drones (Drones) with a request to ban their use by the Russian army for missile strikes.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedrov wrote in a company post via Twitter that Russian forces are “using DJI products to guide their missiles.”

At the same time, he turned to a Chinese company with a request to deactivate drones in Ukraine that were purchased and activated in Russia, Syria or Lebanon, saying: “Ban your products that help Russia kill Ukrainians.”

Notably, the company, headquartered in Shenzhen, near Hong Kong, is one of the major manufacturers of civilian drones used by photographers, companies, and hobbyists. He is also a pioneer in technology that uses satellite navigation to guide drones to precise locations.
