US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said the coming weeks “will be decisive” in the Ukraine crisis.

He said this in his opening speech at a meeting of the International Contact Group on Assistance to the Kyiv Authorities at the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels.

Austin added that today’s meeting comes at a “critical moment” and said the Kremlin “is banking on our sense of exhaustion, but as the year goes on, we are more united than ever,” adding that “this shared resolve will help preserve the Ukrainian momentum in the coming weeks.

The meeting of the International Contact Group is preceded by a ministerial conference of NATO defense ministers.
