Major US stocks opened lower on Tuesday after Goldman Sachs’ quarterly results fell short of expectations, dampening sentiment already affected by weak economic data in China earlier in the day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 80.29 points, or 0.23%, to 34,222.32 at the open.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 opened down 0.01% to 3999.09.

While the Nasdaq Composite fell 9.15 points, or 0.08%, to 11070.00 at the open.
