Barcelona manager Xavi has ruled out the possibility of his side signing Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left Barcelona last summer to join Chelsea, during this winter transfer period.

And in recent hours there have been leaks in the Catalan press suggesting that with Portugal’s Joao Felix moving to Chelsea from Atlético Madrid and Dutchman Memphis Depay a move from Barcelona to Atlético, Xavi may ask Aubameyang to return to Barça again.

And the Spanish newspaper AS reported that Aubameyang contacted Xavi to get his opinion on returning to Barcelona and told him that he misses the club and the city and is ready to return at any cost.

But Xavi has ruled out a return of the Gabonese striker to Barcelona, at least during the current winter transfers, as he said in statements released by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the transfer market in Europe: “We are happy with the team. Basically, there will be no changes. There was no meeting.”
