The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the meeting of the “NATO” Council at the level of foreign ministers that it was time for the “alliance to resign.”
This is stated in her testimony today, Thursday, April 6, where she said that this event is dedicated not only to preparations for the NATO summit, which will be held in Vilnius this summer, but also timed to coincide with the 74th anniversary of the creation of this union, which, in the words of its founders, “was supposed to guarantee the dominance of the West” over the rest of the world.
And Zakharova continued: “In fact, the coalition has nothing to boast of, since the coalition was behind many wars, turning countries into ruins, war crimes without punishment, killing civilians, destroying civilian infrastructure in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. .. See who’s next?
Zakharova noted that, however, representatives of the alliance do not tire of repeating that the alliance is defensive in nature, despite the fact that the entire history of the organization indicates otherwise, and stated: “We see how (NATO), seeking to disrupt the entire European security system, again expands towards Russia, creating threats to our security.”
And she continued: “Finland has become another victim of the alliance (NATO), whose authorities decided to say goodbye to the long-term neutrality of their country in exchange for turning it into a front line and a starting point for containing Russia in the northwestern direction. “, noting that “NATO” does not intend to stop there, but what NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg calls “NATO’s global role, and the need for it to go beyond the area of traditional Euro-Atlantic responsibility” is increasing.
Zakharova stressed that what is happening on the ground “lays the foundation for the imposition of a wide range of (NATO)-centric approaches to building regional security systems.”
Zakharova pointed out that the pumping of Ukraine with weapons and the motivation to continue the war with Russia, strikes against China, flirting with Japan and South Korea, the plan to militarize the Arctic – all this makes the world “more dangerous in order to prevent the existence of any alternative centers of power capable of undermine Western hegemony.
Zakharova stressed that “security and NATO are two incompatible concepts.”
“In this regard, only one conclusion suggests itself: at the age of 74 (NATO), it’s time to retire,” Zakharova concluded.
