Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he does not want to withdraw his troops from the city of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) in the Donetsk Republic, and that in this way Kyiv is trying to buy time for more Western weapons.
“Now we are buying time for the arrival of weapons to strengthen our army,” Zelensky told Der Spiegel.
Zelensky added that the Ukrainian intelligence services and military do not agree with the conclusions of the West that the city has no significant strategic value.
And Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said last Tuesday that the fighting was successfully taking place in the cities of Oglidar and Artemovsk in the Donetsk Republic.
