On Friday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced a US military aid package worth more than $3.75 billion for Ukraine and countries affected by the Russian military operation.

Blinken said in a statement that he would allow the withdrawal of American weapons and equipment to Ukraine.

The new assistance includes the supply of Bradley combat vehicles, artillery systems, armored personnel carriers, anti-aircraft missile systems, ammunition and other items to Ukraine to support Kyiv.

The volume of assistance will amount to 2.85 billion dollars.

In turn, the US Department of Defense revealed that the delivery of Bradley combat vehicles to Ukraine will take several months.

And she pointed out in a statement on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not given up on his goals in Ukraine, citing that Ukraine has witnessed clashes today despite Moscow’s announcement of a ceasefire.

Zelensky is grateful

In turn, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for the recent decision of the United States.

In his video message, he said that Washington’s decision to provide Bradley armored vehicles to his country is exactly what she needs.

The amount of help is impressive

Zelenskiy also continued that the official statement shows that his visit to Washington last month produced tangible results, he said.

Billions of dollars

It is noteworthy that, given these figures, the cost of US assistance to the Ukrainian military effort reaches billions of dollars.

The US Treasury Department announced a few months ago that US assistance would support the government’s core operations, help ease the suffering of the Ukrainian people, and bolster Ukrainian resistance.

Notably, Western aid has poured into Kyiv since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February last year, but its intensity increased significantly after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the annexation of four Ukrainian regions to his country in October last year.
