Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived on Saturday for an unannounced visit to Kyiv.

The CBC reports that Trudeau arrived in Ukraine accompanied by his deputy, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.

Earlier media reported that Trudeau plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his one-day visit.

Talks are expected to focus on Ottawa’s support for Kyiv, as well as Canada’s potential role in rebuilding Ukraine.

This is Trudeau’s second visit to Ukraine since the start of the Russian special operation in February 2022.
