The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, confirmed that the suspension of six Russian TV channels by Moldova is an unprecedented act of political censorship and a violation of the right of millions of people to access information.

“We consider this ban an unprecedented act of political censorship, a violation of the principle of media pluralism and a flagrant violation of the right to information,” she said.

And she stressed that Moscow would call on specialized international organizations to properly evaluate this step and take the necessary measures.

And she continued: “We call on the international organizations concerned to properly assess what happened and take all measures to correct this unacceptable situation.”
