South Korea’s Sukmyung University has launched an investigation into allegations of plagiarism related to First Lady Kim Kyung-hee’s master’s thesis in engineering education.
The university’s alumni association said the university opened an investigation into Kim’s case in mid-December, noting that the final result of the investigation is expected in mid-March if the relevant rules are followed, requiring a result within 90 days of the start of the investigation.
Kim is the subject of allegations of plagiarism for a dissertation she submitted in 1999 as a graduate student for her master’s degree.
