Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman held a meeting in Riyadh with Chairman of the National Energy Administration of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Jianhua and the delegation accompanying him.
The parties discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries in various fields of energy so as to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, as well as reflect the efforts of the two countries to diversify and develop their economies. .
The meeting also discussed the areas of cooperation between the two parties, the importance of ensuring the security of energy supplies to the markets, the creation of joint projects for the processing of crude oil into petrochemicals, the innovative use of hydrocarbons, the peaceful use of atomic energy, nuclear fuel, and national projects. in uranium exploration and mining, electrical projects and renewable energy, clean hydrogen and energy efficiency, as well as the efforts of the two countries to increase their cooperation in energy sector supply chains, which contributes to their increased flexibility and efficiency, as well as the importance of this cooperation in achieving sustainable energy transitions, taking into account its main elements.
The meeting also discussed the efforts of the two countries and their cooperation in tackling climate issues with a circular carbon economy approach as an integrated and comprehensive framework for tackling emissions-related problems to manage them using various clean technologies available, especially removal technologies, taking into account national conditions in each country.
