Data released by Brazil’s Petroleum Regulatory Authority showed that Petrobras, Total Energies, Petronas and Qatar Energy have won exploration rights in the Agua Marina offshore zone to produce pre-salt oil in the Campos Basin in a bidding process.
The National Oil Agency said that Total Energies, Petronas and Qatar Energy presented the best offer with an oil margin of 42.4%, with a minimum of 13.23%.
The consortium won the Petrobras bid in partnership with Shell, but the Brazilian state-owned company exercised the right to join the winners.
Petrobras and Total Energies will each own a 30% stake in the project, while Petronas and Qatar Energy will each own 20%.
The winning alliance will pay a 65 million rials ($12.3 million) signing bonus to the federal government.
