Today, Saturday, the Petroleum Derivatives Pricing Committee in Jordan decided to lower the prices of diesel, gas and gasoline of both types in January 2023.
The committee also decided to reduce the price of diesel fuel by 75 fils to 820 fils per liter from 895 fils per liter and reduce the price of gasoline by 75 fils from 860 fils per liter to 785 fils.
The committee also decided to cut the price of 90-octane gasoline from 920 fils to 900 fils per liter and the price of 95-octane gasoline to 1,140 fils per liter from 1,170 fils per liter, according to the Jordanian news agency Petra.
And the monarch of Jordan, King Abdullah II, last week issued a royal decree approving a modified pricing system for petroleum products, a licensee commission and its tariff for 2022, which was approved by the Council of Ministers on December 22, 2022.
Under the new Jordanian system, the Gulf Arab markets were added to the Singapore and Mediterranean markets for the import of petroleum products. Provide marketing flexibility to importing companies to receive the lowest prices according to the global (Platts) bulletin, the main provider of information on energy and oil prices, which previously depended only on the Singapore and Mediterranean markets before the system was fixed.
