The Jordanian Ministry of Health confirmed that it had taken all the necessary measures due to the increase in the number of infections with respiratory syncytial virus, noting that it is considered a seasonal virus and does not cause panic or fear.
It is noteworthy that the above virus is old and active in the autumn-spring season, as a result of temperature fluctuation between these two seasons, and children often infect the respiratory system.
The Jordanian Ministry of Health indicated an increase in the capacity of its hospitals by increasing the number of beds and medical personnel, as well as increasing the stocks of medical disposable supplies and medicines to fight infections caused by the virus within 24 hours.
In this regard, she explained that the Amman field hospital was equipped to receive such patients in the event of an increase in the number of wounded.
The Ministry of Health also spoke about the symptoms of syncytial virus infection, which manifest themselves as symptoms of ordinary flu, such as sore throat, dry cough, bronchiolitis, fever in most cases, symptoms can extend to shortness of breath and bronchial wheezing in small proportions.
